A phone call needs
no data bundle.

Wetu Voice — a voice for SMEs, businesses, enterprises and organisations.

In markets where most subscribers are on feature phones, voice and SMS are not legacy channels — they are the only universal ones. Wetu Voice decides who to reach, on which channel, at what hour, in whose voice, and what to do when nobody answers.

Every campaign shows you its cost, its exclusions and its wording before a shilling moves.

Global aggregator, per SMS$0.2631

What a tier-one international route charges to land one message in Uganda.

The same message, the same handset, down a route that knows the network.

On identical delivery. A routing engine is not an optimisation here — it is the whole margin.

(01) How it works

Six steps, in order.

Nothing is sent until the step before it has been checked. That is the product.

01

Bring your list

Import a CSV and see what is valid, what is duplicated and who is already suppressed — before a single row is written.

02

Build the audience

Segments are saved questions, re-asked at launch. A campaign reaches whoever qualifies then, not whoever qualified when you saved it.

03

Write it once

Templates are grounded in your brand memory: your tone, your disclosures, the pronunciation of your own names. Never a blank prompt.

04

Check before you spend

Pre-flight shows recipients, exclusions and why, cost per country, and the message rendered against a real contact — gaps included.

05

Send down a lane

A lane is a governed pipe: its own sender identity, pace, concurrency ceiling, quiet hours, consent policy and budget cap.

06

Watch it, and stop it

A live console with one pause button. Lanes stop themselves when a budget or a complaint threshold is reached.

How an automated reminder is sentA due date in your own system triggers a schedule. Each message then passes a consent check, a suppression check, a quiet-hours check and a budget check before a route is chosen and the call is placed. If nobody answers, a retry is scheduled inside the lane’s policy rather than immediately.05YOUR DATAA due datefrom your systemScheduledthree days before1Consentfor this scope2Suppressionopted out, ever3Quiet hourstheir timezone4Budgetlane capHeld or excluded — counted, with the reason, before you spend anythingROUTEcheapest workingLeast-cost routeper delivery, not per tryPress 1confirmedNo answer → retried on the lane’s policy, at an hour they are awake
One reminder, end to end. Each numbered gate can stop a message on its own, and every message it stops is counted with its reason — so the figure you see before launching is the figure you are billed.
(02) The setup

Configured once, then it runs.

An automated reminder is not a scheduled blast. It is three standing objects — a lane, a template and a trigger — and the lane is the one that keeps the other two honest.

What you configure onceThree standing objects: a lane carrying pace, quiet hours, consent policy and a budget cap; a message template grounded in your brand memory; and a trigger, which may be a date column, a webhook from your own system, or a recurring schedule.(A)A laneSender identity · 20/second · 8am–8pm local · UGX 400,000 cap(B)A template“Hello {first_name}, your repayment of {amount_due} is due on {due_date}.”(C)A triggerA date column, a webhook, or a recurring schedule
Configured once, then left alone. The lane is the part worth understanding: it holds the pace, the hours, the consent policy and the cap, so a campaign cannot exceed any of them by being launched wrongly.
  • A lane. Sender identity, 20 messages a second, 8am–8pm in the recipient's own timezone, service consent, and a UGX 400,000 cap the lane stops itself at.
  • A template. “Hello {first_name}, your repayment of {amount_due} is due on {due_date}.” Written once, grounded in your own brand memory rather than a blank prompt.
  • A trigger. A date in a column, a webhook from your core system, or a recurring schedule. Set once; it fires for every contact who qualifies at the time it runs.
(03) Call lanes

What makes “call 200,000 people” a safe operation.

A lane is an operator-grade abstraction over outbound capacity — governed, observable and revocable, rather than a loop against an API.

01

Quiet hours, locally

8pm in Kampala is not 8pm in Lagos. Held messages wait for the recipient's morning, not yours.

02

Consent, checked per send

Scope and channel are matched at dispatch. An opt-out is honoured before anyone reads the reply.

03

Budget caps that bite

A lane with a cap stops at the cap. No overnight surprise, no invoice nobody approved.

04

Two-key launches

Above your own thresholds a campaign needs a second signature — and the requester cannot be the signer.

05

Least-cost routing

Every MSISDN is priced across your providers and sent down the cheapest route that is actually delivering.

06

A chain you can audit

Every action is hash-chained. An altered record breaks the chain, and the check says exactly where.

(04) Who uses it

Anyone whose people must be told.

Contactability is the job. What changes between industries is the message and the hour, not the machinery.
